The average cost was blown out by a $300,000 Seattle Slew colt which showed immense potential but was injured.
These figures represent only the early data from the mid 90s as unfortunately due to a confidentiality agreement with our
exclusive Hong Kong clients, we are unable to give out data on purchases for them. Currently racing in Australia we only have
"Real Strike" who was last year's Hawkesbury horse of the year and who despite being described by a well known TV commentator
as "possibly the unluckiest horse racing in Australia" has stll managed to pick up 6 races as well as a couple of listed
placings to date. His half sister "It's Who Deanie" was also bred by us and was a city winner, she was placed in the Wakefield
stakes and has just had her first foal sold for $750,000. Both these horses were bred from a $9,000 cast off mare bought from
a major stud farm.
We no longer work with trainers as shortlisted horses put forward to clients by us and rejected by trainers for various
supposed faults included: Champion Might and Power, Golden slipper winners Merlene and Prowl and Melbourne cup winner Jezabeel.
Total yearlings rated by us over 5 years of sales produced the following results*
Starters Winners Placed
Black type
1671 1207=72% 262=16%
214=13%
* this is a raw result of pure ratings done sight unseeen, with the normal inspections done before purchasing the number
of qualified horses would be reduced substantially.
Overall sight unseen, of those horses we have been able to track, 72% of horses rated by Consultlink's
system have been winners, another 16% placed and 13% have earned black type.
When you consider that two of Sydney's top trainers between them bought 400 yearlings in just one year, they would have
to have 280 winners a year to compete with us !
